Nope this isn't one of those 'PC' threads ..

Is there a simple way to remove some scribblings produced using a permanent marker, that erm, a friend managed to do onto a brand new whiteboard for presentations.

write over the scriblings with a whiteboard marker, let it dry for a min then wipe it off. I know that works when someone uses a permanent marker on a whiteboard.

scribble over it with a dry wipe marker and it'll come off.

also, this will probably leave a little stain of the colours mixed. We used cif/jif or what ever its called and it all vanishes

I remember this thread!

Couple of months back a bloke had done the same on his new whiteboard at home and was trying different methods of removal. I'll try and find the thread.
Should read it, it was bloody hilarious!

Lol, as posted above

This reminds me of when my mum was a teacher. Someone misspelt our family name so some bright spark added the missing 'e'
Two years later there was still a random e on the top of the board

Bet i wish i hadn't left some sarcy messages for my departing colleague.

Okay, Polish cleaning lady has saved me from getting some grief. She used a fluorescent green liquid (like daddy used for cleaning engine bays) in case you're interested.

We had a very expensive projector screen which day 1 someone wrote on with a dry wipe pen. Lovely.

I always find a 12 bore removes marks from whiteboards.

YMMV

Paint thinners will fetch it off.

Test it on a very discreet corner of the whiteboard though first.

We run an event in the summer that has a huge scoreboard that is updated using marker pens - we print full colour coverings for the scoreboard, and then laminate the surface. At the end of each event we use paint thinners to clean off the marker pen, and the boards come up like brand new every time.

However, if the laminated surface were to get damaged, then the thinners would strip the print bare in a few seconds!

But make sure the area is well ventilated, and no smoking whilst you are doing it either!!

Vodka. More specifically, Morrinov Imperial Vodka (Morrisons own brand, basically paint stripper made drinkable)

And there's the shameless plug of work out of the way...

Reminds me of when a colleage was doing a presentation at a BT office - he filled one whiteboard and started writing on another, when one of the BT chaps pointed out he was writing on a projector screen
