Is it possible or feasible that the sheep-like indigenous British population will eventually cry 'ENOUGH!' and rise up against the bunch of turds controlling them and who daily, it seems, seek to impose further Draconian measures upon the ordinary working people of the UK?

As a retiree who left the the UK to live in France many years ago, I grieve for the country of my birth and what it has become, I would never wish to live there again.

Discuss please...

Revolutions only happen with a young population. UK demographics say no chance of any major change.

Current govenment would like that. They could use it to delay the next general election.

I'd feel far worse living in a country like France where people think that going out on the streets solves anything. Mob rule doesn't help anyone.

I and my family leave for France on April 16th.At first it was because we wanted a change in life style, now it means a whole lot more.France is a socialist country,UK is becoming "communist"(YKWIM).The population will not rise up because already we are "controlled" by the fear of imprisonment and Government spin. This country is sleep walking into being. a police state,it could be argued that it is now, from which there will be no return. The Government can do virtually what it likes because the population are apathetic,we moan like the best of them but when it comes to the crunch we just bend over and take it.I'm as guilty as the next man and for that I'm ashamed. The French protest, blockade or riot when something is not to their liking and the Government are forced to sit up and take notice,WTF do us Brits do,absolutley fk all. When someone does actually stand up to be counted(like the green custard girl) we bh about how things should be changed via the ballot box not direct action. In years to come history will count this Government as the worst ever regarding the economy and law making, the population will be judge as the most spineless and apathetic

The French think it solves the problem of a unlistening government. Cant argue with success.

Just over a year until the election. A day more of Brown and Co is too much, but we'll get through it. It's just going to be 1% worse fro every three or four days they hang on.

my guess is that a major banking issue will happen within 2-3 months of the next election "forcing" brown to declare a state of emergency and use that lovely law labour came up with to cancel the election for "reasons of national security" ................anybody fancy putting a pint on it?

I keep thinking that something has to give eventually - and very posssibly in a big, unpleasant way. Although many things about the UK are still top notch, so many things are wrong and getting rapidly worse in this country that we may well have a big problem in the future, though difficult to say how soon.

One major example is the uncontrolled breeding of the non-working scum classes (or whatever you want to call them), whilst the rest of us support them and maybe have 1 or 2 kids - perhaps three at a push. It surely can't be many generations before the ratio of the useless to the providing workers becomes unmanageable - which in turn will result in a tax burden that will make it no longer worthwhile to go out to work just to hand it over to support the pointless. We're already seeing stealth taxes up the ying-yang and a massive deficit in government spending - much of which has been stealthily hidden from the majority of the electorate, and whilst the workers in the middle still get to enjoy a reasonable proportion of their hard-earned, it diminishes with every passing year - certainly under this government.

Council Tax, for example, will have to keep on rising at stupid, unfair, almost criminal rates - simply because most of it gets spent on 1)The non-workers, 2)The hordes of public sector workers created by the current government, who all require pay and pensions.

It's fking scary stuff if you think too hard about the slippery slope we're on.......

Great post. When is someone going to stand up and start saying what the majority of the hard working public is thinking?

That is exactly the problem, there is no opposition any more. Politics has become so bland, there isn't really anyone worth voting for. I really can't see that getting rid of the current crop of government is going to make much difference. The trouble is, the longer the vaccuum continues, the more extremist a point of view it will take to make a change. This is the sort of thing that causes relatively sane populations to vote in some real nut cases - Germany in the 1930's anyone? The only thing that might stop that sort of scenario happening is that anybody with an opposing point of view is already shouted down as an extremist. Just look at the righteous indignation that comes forward from the speed kills lobby. Anyone who doesn't support lowering speed limits clearly likes nothing better than going out every day and mowing down crowds of innocent children...

That's the trouble,we can't get out of the trouble this government has caused unless alot of rediculous laws are repealed and money starts to grow on trees, both of which will never happen.I used to think like you with regards to loving this country but after some thought realised what I really loved was family, friends and a daily routine.Take away those things and you're left with not alot where ever you live, even Blighty

Spot On!!
I'm 100% certain that we have a 'Poll Tax' type situation coming and coming soon! Riots unfortunately will not be enough, the scots tw*t has put through enough 'anti terrorist' legislation to enable them to jail any 'miscreants'. This will need to be a full blooded, 'F*ck This, we've had it, brun and co - put your heads there - is that axe sharp enough?' revolution to stop these employees of ours!!
Let's face it, we've let them milk the gravy train for so long, they and their cronies ain't giving it up any time soon!
Whatever you may think about our Gallic Cousins, they will, and do, sort out their government!
