Isle of Man recommendations
Discussion
All, we're looking to get over to the island in the next few months. Rather than waste time on expedia etc I thought I'd throw it open to the collective expertese on the forum.
Can you recommend a nice place to stay for a few days, probably a B&B as we'd prefer something other than the typical large hotel.
Thanks

If you're looking for something small, cosy and friendly then any of these are very good:
Upper Ballavarkish Cottages in Ballabeg which is near Castletown to the SE.
Not far from the airport if you're flying?
Grenaby Road

East View Cottage in Port Erin which is in the SW.
Rowany Cottier Guest House, also in Port Erin and overlooking Rowany Golf Club.
Anchorage Guest House in Port Erin is good too.
Willow Cottage in Maughold just outside Ramsey to the North.
Corvalley at Ballaugh (in the NW) is great and is set on a lovely working farm.
There is a traditional B&B or a brand new this year, self contained holiday cottage.
If you want Douglas there are too many good ones to choose from. The best thing to do would be go and walk in and if you don't like it try next door.
I'll try and find links/contact details for some of them and update...
