Not a great deal.

I wore a cream suit that I had paid about £20 for and never worn previously, my daughter had a new dress which my mum paid for.

My mum paid for the licence, my dad paid for us to go to the local Brewer's Fayre for a meal (6 Adults and 1 child) I don't know how much each cost.

We paid for the wedding rings and for a night in the Travel Inn.

I printed off a card that I had done to send to everyone on the day of the wedding to let them know that we were now married.

I did, and it cost me everything that I had, got most of it back when he died 6 months after the divorce. (always did have lousy timing that guy)

As pointed out to the recently new Mrs Eds, the cost of the wedding was in the same ball park as this:

£20k for a week and a half in Africa, the wedding out there, flights for us and a couple of friends who couldn't afford it, accommodation for 26 people, 10 days honeymoon in Las Vegas. All in all, not bad for a 3 week wedding.

Registry office.
Reception upstairs in the local pub.
Her dress £200 from Debenhams.
I bought a new tie.

All in all, about 2 Grand with an open bar too.

Much better having money for the marriage than the wedding in my opinion.
A wedding is one day, you won't notice much of it, it'll go past in a flash and all you'll be left with is some photos you never look at and a video no one wants to watch.

Save the money and use it to have a better life together.

Aiming to spend about 25k but that is to fly us, and a few people we want, out to where we want to get married, and what will amount to a two week holiday for all.

About 13k I think- traditional church wedding with 100 for dinner and 50 extras for the evening entertainment/buffet,
That was 18 months ago, the honey moon was £2k on top of that.
Our original budget was 13k, not bad huh?
