I never know whether to trust this guy or not.....

When you have the power to move the markets, I always suspect some manipulation to occur!

Has he just bought a load of Bank shares and wants a quick return?

What do you guys think his motivation for giving this interview is?

Buffett doesn't do quick returns, always for the long term. He's pretty much called every major market movement (with the notable exception of the 2008 oil speculation bubble, for which he, shock horror, actually apologised to his shareholders). As I understand it, he's buying up insurance companies at the moment, at a healthy discount, and to provide cashflow to fund his other businesses.
His record stands for itself, and I reckon he's just calling it as he sees it - told you it was coming and you didn't listen, now I'm telling you it isn't sorted yet, so don't believe anyone who says it is. The full interview is at:
