Ali Bongo - passed away today
Discussion
I remember seeing him on TV when I was a kid. What I didn't know was he is credited as being the inspiration for the Jonathan Creek TV series (which he was also a consultant on, apparently).
Died after having a stoke.
Sad.

Just picked up on the sad news.
My generation of kids just adored him. He was a force of nature. Whenever I saw him on TV as a child I was captivated . A wild and crazy bundle of energy, one never knew what he was going to do next. His slippers were stuff of legend.
It was only years later that I discovered how respected a magician he was.
Although most people don't realise it, his passing has left the World a lesser place.
Thanks Ali Bongo and may your God bless you.

The sixties and seventies. I'm wracking my brians trying to rmember a particular kids show, but he definitely appeared on The David Nixon Show in the sixties/early seventies.
Here's a video of part of his act. (Apologies for the gratuitous Paul Daniels at the beginning).

I don't remember Zokko.
OK, after a spot of Googling I was right!
I don't remember Zokko.
'A handful of more established acts would also show up including conjuring legend Ali Bongo;'
