Hi guys,

Currently live nearish to the town centre in a shared house, but fancy a change (Maybe into another shared house), anyone recommend any areas to look in? Quite like Woolton, Hale Village and some of Hunts Cross, but any other recommendations I may not of thought of? (Cue witty replies about Liverpool biggrin)

EDIT: South Liverpool if poss smile

Pretty much all the ones I was thinking, cheers, don't really have any specific needs (No kids, etc) and I drive, thinking of sharing with a couple of people as means I can afford a far nicer place than I can living on my own smile

Funny you mention Kent, I'm actually from West Sussex D:

What about one of the new build apartments by the marina on the way up to Otterspool? I've just moved out of a riverfront pad on the Wirral side and an early morning walk by the river is just the ticket!

Doesn't sound like a bad plan, there's a nice 3 bedroom thatched Cottage in Hale Village that'd be quite nice as well, limiting factor will be the estate agents I imagine, who probably will be looking for a family rofl

I think you must know the areas pretty well. If you want to aviod sharing with students, maybe think twice about

Sefton Park / Lark Lane
Allerton

Good nights out round these parts though

Cressington / Parts of Aigburth have very large houses i.e. loads will have rooms to rent / large flats.

Woolton is nice though.

Yeah I like Woolton, I've had some good nights out watching the footy in the village, thanks for the suggestions smile

Edit to add that I quite like Lark Lane, I'm only early 20's so don't mind living in busy areas.

A colleague of mine lives in New Brighton, over the other side of the Mersey. He says its fantastic over there, and the houses are very affordable.

As nice as parts of it look I would avoid Hale Village.
I would'nt be too keen on Hunts Cross either.

Allerton, Mossley Hill, Calderstones and as mentioned Woolton Village.

You might want to check the apartments around the marina and on Riverside Drive - near to the Jag dealership.

How come you'd avoid Hale Village? It looks nice, but I presume there's a fair few scallies in there as it's next to that estate in Speke...

Some parts of Garston aren't bad (i.e. the bit closest to Allerton & Woolton).

Most of Hunts Cross is fine (I live on Enstone Road which is a quiet road of 8 houses wink ), the only 'not so good' bit is the Halewood end which is not Liverpool once you go over Mackett's Lane. Some of the houses that back onto the railway line are lovely, but most are under private ownership. Plus there's nothing to do of a night, but it's only a 20 minute train trip into Liverpool or Warrington, or a 40 minute one to Manchester - unless you get a taxi to Woolton, Wavertree, Allerton.

There's a new-ish development between Speke and Hunts Cross called 'Hunts Cross Village' which is not very well sold at the moment, and there are a lot of rentals there. You also see a lot of flight crew staying there as it's close to the airport.

Speke is a no-no, even though I've got family living there as you've only got to look at someone wrong and your car will be torched, plus you get police cars & helicopters chasing TWOCers through the night (although it probably happens less than once a week).

Some of Woolton is very nice, but can be expensive - the cheaper parts border Halewood too!

Calderstones is more expensive than Woolton, but is even better.

Some parts of Allerton are very nice (it covers a quite a big area), as are some parts of Aigburth, Cressington and Grassendale - but as with all areas, you've got to pick the right part to be in the 'good bit'.

I live in Allerton/Wavertree area at the momenent, and it's alright, we've just got a landlord that's totally unwilling to sort anything out unless we give him a load of hassle, plus the house is really dingy, shared between 5 people (at max) and it seems like I could do a lot, lot better for the money.

I dunno, The Isle of Man's supposed to be OK and not too far away. Otherwise, Derbyshire.
