I just screwed up! Stuck a letter in the post and realised half of its contents are still on my desk!

Any ideas how to get it back - the mailbox is across the road but I cant see it thru the window. I have put a large note saying I require some mail back asap and directed the mailman to my office but do you think they'll read it?

Any ideas people! Really need it back !

Why not just mail a second letter with the rest of the contents?

Nah the first one contains some forms and the company i'm sending it to are kind of slow and usually take forever dealing with 1 and would end up sending it back sometime in january without bothering to check the other envelope.

I believe that once it's posted it's the property of the Royal Mail and you can't have it back...

Nope. It now belongs to the Queen until it's delivered. Postie is up for the sack if he gives it back.

The postman will not give it to you as it, as said before, the property of Her Majesty.

Even if you did catch the postie at emptying out time, I would not have thought that he would give you the package back to take away with you. If you have the other items and a fresh envelope all ready to go, for him to see you put it all in together and hand it back to him without holding him up, you might get lucky.

Just stand next to the postbox when he comes to collect, and keep pointing out all the envelopes that look like cards from Granny or CDs.

Then grab your envelope and scarper while the thieving is distracted stealing christmas from the kiddies.
