Neighbour just gave postie £20!!!

There i was chatting to the old duffer next door when the postman can along handed my neighbour his letters, neighbour proceeds to delve into his pocket and gives the postie a score!

I know i wouldn't do that

If I could afford it, was in at the time, and they had gone out of their way to deliver excellent service etc then maybe.

But that's just because of what happened a couple weeks ago!

I was waiting for a parcel that I had to sign for. Mail comes at its usual time, around 12 noon, and the pickup card was already in with the mail. He clearly made no attempt to ring the door bell or see if anyone was in to sign for it

If he managed to deliver some post, to two companies (business is apparently a priority) at the same address before mid fking day I'd consider giving him something.

Ours is fg worthless, put a couple of hundred quids worth of parcels in our recycling bin on bin day last week - at least the bin men had already been. This is not the first time they've been complete muppets either. Certainly won't be getting any cash off me...

Had that happen last week. It was a house guest's wallet, which he had accidentally left at his sister's house, and she had posted on to him. Our local post office was closed that afternoon, too, so he couldn't pick it up until the following morning.

don't take this the wrong way but what would you say constitutes excellent service from the postie?

i'm never home during the day so i couldn;t distinguish between a good and bad deliver of my bills.

I give my postie a tip each Xmas. He uses his common sense and leaves parcels with neighbours or gets them to sign for goods so I don't have to visit the depot (yes I have good neighbours).

He also puts up with my young daughter thinking he is 'Postman Pat'

Ridiculous! Are they really that lazy or stupid that they can't ring a doorbell.

There's a bit on the back that says about leaving a certain amount of time before collecting. God knows what it said, it was a just a pathetic scribble.

I was quite lucky really, the posty had parked his old banger outside of our house, and as I was getting ready to go to the post office, I saw him returning to his car, so ran out and get the parcel.

Parcels turning up before I have to go to work at a regular time in good condition. Effort made to knock or alert me. Redeliveries of parcels or efforts made to leave with neighbours.

To be fair any parcels I get on Saturday the Postman makes every effort to wake the whole fking building up at 7.20AM
