Bit of a long shot but here goes....

Does anyone know the artist/song title of the tune used in the Topgear USA road trip, which is basically a lot of humming!

(Think it's The who but i don't know the name of the song.)

If someone guesses it from that they've done well!

Nope! It's been used a few times during the Topgear road trips, i pretty sure it's a 60's/70's tune.

Is it the one that gets used in ads sometimes? Sounds like a choir of male voices?

(As an aside, if you have MTV dance as part of your sky package, do you REALLY need the adult channels?)

I'll add my own one to this, even though its a really famous song/tune I doubt anyone will be able to tell me it's name with my description.

Kinda African style music a really mellow relaxing song with lots of aiii - ya hoo-oomba aiii yaaa chanting going on in it. Has been used in countless films, safari videos, wildlife documentaries and the like yet I haven't been able to find it anywhere frown

Already listened to most of Ladysmith Black Mambazos songs... Did the Lion King soundtrack smile

The wailing in this particular song is far too relaxed to be of the zipuptoofast variety wink

You've helped twofold actually as I've found the song I was originally looking for which is actually by the same band.
