Lads weekend, thinking of Riga anyone been?

It depends what you've been told before going, we went in June as a group of about 20 and had no trouble at all. Women are very fit though, my advice would be to research clubs before you go, the SkyBar is a good spot, new and trendy and they serve Mojito's too.
We did the machine guns on a Friday, that was pretty good, but if you go to some seedy bar, expect the worse. The problem was that various people were told very bad things about Riga so they were always on edge if something happened that they didn't like. Riga's biggest problem is that they're not really geared up for groups of English guys looking for titty bars, they base everyone on the normal stereotype i'm afraid, loud, looking for trouble and usually drunk.

i went last month with a couple of friends (3 irish, 2 latvian) we'd a good time but some places are total scam joints so be careful, especially around the old town (steer clear of roxy night club for a start) skybar is well worth a visit classy spot with a great view. check out this place for something to do during the day http://www.riga-life.com/play/entertainment_detail...

get yourself to cleethorpes. it's cheap, they want you to have a good time. and although the birds are built for comfort, they will keep you warm, wet and give you a good breakfast

worst of the baltic / eastern european cities imo. old town is ok but its small and the rest of the city is a dump. only attraction was the chance to go to sigulda an hour away and go bobsledding.
try vilnius instead, the capital of lithuania. beautiful city, cleaner, better nightlife and far fewer pissed up brits. women's winter uniform is a fitted coat and FMB's, and you have a far improved chance of pulling
