I've noticed more sectarian posting on PH, a lot of finger pointing. So whose fault is this climate change credit crunch debt property unemployment deflation thing, apart from the government(s) of course?

Personally I blame Dentists...

I'm not eligible for a bailout, I have a fixed-rate mortgage, work 5 days a week and pay 40% tax, don't drive a supercar, have modest savings (soon to earn 0%), didn't buy a string of BTL shjtholes etc.

It was the dentists, trust me... or vets maybe?

Good idea - lets stick with the tradition that's done Britain proud since 1066, and blame it all on the French. biggrinbiggrin

Wedding photographers. The high prices charged pushed up the cost of weddings which had a snowball impact on the florists and cake makers then the dress makers. After that recession was inevitable.

I reckon it's down to the rising cost of something that reaches into every walk of life..the specialist magazine.
From leisure mags to corporate publications the costs have risen.

This is, I believe, down to the passing on of costs by publishing and media giant, Haymarket.

Well, they have to recoup the £679 billion they paid for the PistonHeads brand.

Therefore, it's all Ted's fault.

Aren't we now reaping the consequences of the great 'is it a cake?, is it a biscuit?' VAT wrangle regarding McVities Jaffa Cakes which was the real reason for the collapse of the Wilson administration in the early 1970's?

I blame

The people who borrowed beyond their means, suckered in by offers of Easy Credit with out any personal fiscal planning or budgeting.

The lenders who knowingly loaned money to people who were already up to their eyeballs in debt and a bad credit risk.

The culture of " have you been refused a loan, self employed or got CCJ?" type advertising.

I blame the Irish - all that EU money they got which they squandered on good roads and a good education for their kids and bettering their standard of living. Shouldn't be allowed.

The Chinese. They've taken over the world using noodles as a tasty trojan horse forcing entry into every home in the country.

Estate Agents still seem to be Britains most hated, along with 'Bankers', 'City types' and anyone else who seems in the past to have had a comfortable lifestyle and now appears, on the face of it to 'deserve' misery, financial stress and personal misery heaped upon them.
