I've been a cat owner for over 25 years now, but have never seen anything like this before

We got a new cat about 4 weeks ago. He's taken a while to settle in and is generally a bit antisocial.
Anyhow, for the past few nights he's taken to jumping on our bed, standing with all 4 paws on one of my legs, biting down onto the bedclothes covering my feet, arching his back and thrusting his hips rhythmically. When I try and move him off, the bugger gets really aggressive. If I kick him off the bed he'll get back on later in the night and wake me up with the same behaviour. I've had to lock him out.

Any cat owners any idea what's causing this? Is there any rational explanation or, am I to assume that my leg smells like the batter on a she cat's fanny?

The feline in question is an 8year old neutered3 tom.

Stop putting cat nip on your leg. Might help.

Interesting.. my 13yr old neutered male still tries to mount his neutered female feline friend but never done it too us!. He can usually get as far as climbing over her and biting down on her scruff before she has enough or before we tell him to get off, but he's never been aggressive with it and always stops when told.

When was he neutered, recently or years ago?

We understand that he was neutered as a kitten, but can't corroborate that.

It is a bit of strange on. I would keep him out of you room for a few weeks if thats the only place he's doing it and give him more time to settle in. In case there is some stress involvement may be worth investing in a Feliway (pheremone product to help with stress) found in vets usually. Otherwise not sure what may be causing it.

You're leaving your bedroom door open when you shouldn't be.

What about getting him one of these to hump instead? Think 'sacrificial anode'...

He's definitely got no nuts. It's when they were removed that's in question.

My ginger tom will do the same thing, sans shagging motion though.

Maybe yours is about to unleash a turd?

Possibly not such a daft idea. I remember my friend had a cat that had a habit of humping a particular soft toy she had. Mind you that cat had been involved in an RTA a few years before and suffered head injuries. He never tried to hump her though smile
