Might need somewhere this evening for 10 or so people in Ashbourne. Not really bothere what sort of food, but should be good value- ie reasonably cheap but NOT crap.

anyone have any suggestions?

Bramhalls Bistro. Just up the hill from the main square on the LHS.

Yes, highly recommeded. I ate there last year, very good indeed, also stayed the night there, excellent rooms and cracking breakfast.
