Time to buy or sort out a few pairs of shoes..

ALL Heels and soles are worn,

Classic Tan Loakes - Leather sole
Black Footjoy Classic dress - leather sole
Paul Smith Black Boot - Leather sole

I haven't had any shoes repaired for quite a few years.. SO,

What's the general concensious - Buy New or Get Re-soled/heeled..?
Whats the cost nowadays for a complete shoe re-sole..?
Is it a Mr Minit job or proper Cobbler..?

If they are the average £75 type shoes, then just get new ones.

If they are £350 sort then repair.

I believe thats the way nowadays.

Oh and "ghey"

I get both pairs of my Churches re-soled when needed and they cost me less then £350 a pair.

Do what you want is my reply.

Same here. My 6 year olf pair is about to go there for the last time today, then i'm just going to have to get another pair. WOuld have got another a few months ago but i'm sort of hoping the price of the new ones might go down a little in the next 3 months smile

As an aside, what's the rough cost of a 'refresh' back at the factory?

Unless they are irreplacable, buying new ones is a better bet. Everything is geared to cheap manufacture these days. Re-soles aren't cheap, and never as good as new.

It is like re-treads on tyres- on any car that you'd consider it, new tyres are cheap...

£85 at the moment and they are away between 2-6 weeks depending what time of year.

If they have been re-soled anywhere else before I think it costs more though not sure on that one, but I always get asked the question when I take them in.

Mine haven't ever been for a 'refresh' but pay about £26 for new soles and heels.
