This morning I was busy opening my wifes mail and noticed a Tesco letter admonishing her for parking in their car park for four hours last Wednesday. My wife had told me she'd been shopping that day, so I checked the bank statement and she'd spent best part of £200 in their bleddy shop during the four hours.

They haven't tried to fine her or anything, but told her to 'be aware there is a time limit for parking'.

Should I just forget it, or send them a shyteogram apologizing for not shopping fast enough, and offer to take our custom elsewhere if they begrudge her the use of their car park while she is wasting spending her money?

Send them a crappy letter.
How did she manage 4 hours? That must be a record!

I know what you mean. They stopped doing cheap breakfasts as well!

They seem intent on losing customers at the moment. They will be stopping the clubcard points on fuel next!

Give them full vent to your wrath.

Hang on

Where'd they get her details from?

You clearly haven't seen the queues in the Southampton branch (well, branches, either is the same) of Asda.

I'm considering arming myself next time I go.

Worth an arsey response IMHO. Might get something from them. At the very least an apology.

I think that'd be a misuse of the system to use it to send bh letters.

Go straight to the Store Manager using phrases like "shop elsewhere" and "local newspaper"...

You'll get a lovely, grovelling letter of apology to frame.

Doubt you will! Dont think they give much of a s**t! Even when they sold me out of date stuff I got a "oh sorry here is a refund" other stores do far more to keep your custom!

How would Tesco be able to trace the owner of the car? Were the police involved at some stage as if some possible offence had been commited?,or does that particular Tesco ask for the identity of then times anyone who parks in their car parks?

As per above, Tesco can pay circa £2 to request the registered keeper's details from the DVLA

local paper, picture of a car in the car park, with the lovely lady in the foreground holding both the receipt and the letter.

That'd keep the manager busy, especially if you ham it up with tears, and fear of jail.

They would have requested the RK's details from the DVLA. And the DVLA will have handed out that information without batting an eyelid.

She ambles around for hours, looking at all sorts of trash. They have everything from Televisions to telephones, clothes to clocks, and everything in between in our local Tesco.

I used to go shopping with her, but several years ago I decided to stay home and watch grass grow instead. It was more exciting.

I got 'told off' the other day for using the parent and child spaces while shopping there.....

According to the signs you need a child under 12 with you to qualify, admitidly I only used the space as I had the weekend car and didn't want it damaged by school run mum and her stupidly large car.
However I was hoping the fact that my 7 year old would 'permit' me to park there biggrin
