Was bored today so I went with the OH to O2 for her to get a new phone, whilst there I noticed that they are offering free broadband for a year or £7.50 off any of the packages.

Quickly worked out that if i got a £10 pay as you go card, I could claim the offer, so £10 later (got to top it up in 5 months) and one very disgruntled O2 employee (and embarassed OH for me doing it) I have now got the broadband and just need to work out which package i want.

BTW, its only 10 customers per store (the strand has 2 left).

Now im happy and smug

Thanks... but no thanks!

Apparently:

"Your exchange is Broadband enabled and our initial test on your line indicates that your line should be able to support a Broadband service that provides a line rate of 0.5Mbps"

Feck!

0.5Mbps!!!!!

I think it'd be faster if someone printed the web pages and posted them to me.

I used Demon (my works BB supplier)to check but it's the same from any supplier. They do a check on my line and, because I'm surrounded by fields, the bytes can't travel very fast in case they hit a sheep or something.
