Internet searches have left me even confused than before on finding mid-price (100 euros per night?) accomodation for wife and I in Paris for three nights.

Any suggestions of places that you know of?

Many thanks.

I tried to find something in that price range about a month ago. It got depressing real quick. Really not much around, opnly budget (60 euro) and really not budget (200 euro and up) that wasn't full. And this was on a monday-wednesday night.

Great little hotel in a perfect location is the Relais St Honore hotel. Think it's more like 175 Euros per night but even at that price you'll still generally end up in a dump by Gare du Nord. I've stayed at Relais st Honore a few times and recommend it to everyone. HTH

Sofitel at La Defence.

Its bloody hard to find a descent affordable hotel in central Paris and there are some f'kin awful ones.

La defance looks a way out on the map but its very quick to get to central (Opera, Rue Rivoli etc) on the Metro.

The Mercure in Montmartre is very convenient and well price. Even cheaper is the Ibis next door. Both are a quick taxi-ride from Gare du Nord and are perfectly located for walking around Montmartre, Sacre Coeur, even down to the Paris Opera House and the main shopping area.

We stayed in a reasonable little place just near Gare D'Austerlitz (near the Seine) and it wasn't terribly expensive. I think the road was Hospital Road - very convenient for the city though.

Mind you, it was 5 years ago now.

Stayed here before: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g187147-d2...

Forget the price but it was compact and bijou, very modern, located right next to a large station/Metro and had the comfiest bed I've ever slept in.

We stayed here last June http://www.les3poussins.com and can thoroughly recommend it, it's also got (or it did have last April when I was looking) some very favourable reviews on Expedia.

It's in what appears to be a decent, French part of Paris (as opposed to a tourist ghetto) and has plenty of local shops, bars & restaurants within 5-10 mins walk. I can highly recommend the No-Stress Cafe at the top of the road, very nice ambience and we were the only English folks there but the bar staff could understand my dodgy O-level French well enough for us to get some decent food n drink wink

It's about 10 mins walk from the nearest tube and that takes you straight into down-town Paris in only a few stops.

Tres bon!

I spent Christmas a couple of years ago in Hotel Bedford. I can't remember exactly how much it was, but doubt will of been that much.

This was very close to everything. The hotel was quite nice as well.

I lived in Hotel Maillot for a while when I worked in La Defence, nice family owned, near the metro (1)

Out of all the others I've stayed in the Hotel Danemark new park de Luxembourg which was probably the nicest and was a couple of doors from the Cubana cafe which is also worth a visit. It's on the 6 line out of memory.

I just got back from Paris last weekend, we stayed in a great apartment about 100 meters from the Louvre bang in the center. I think it was 100 euro a night. I'll ask my lady for the website (french mind)

Good location, fairly cheap, newly refurbed. Small bathrooms though!
