Hi all,

forgive me if this has been asked before (though searched and not found)

Is the ban on "shorting" financial stocks only above a certain value, or is it a blanket ban?

In other words, if I wanted to play with 2k on RBS, could I?

There's a list of stocks you can't do it on.

Soov,

have I read right that it only applies if youre planning on buying a stake 0.25% or higher?

Too late?

Yes, it would have been nice to get in whilst the big highs and lows were there but I didnt have the cash and I think if youre prepared to gamble with 2 - 5k I think theres still a few £ to be made

Dont get me wrong, I'm clueless on this stuff but it seems simple to me if youre prepared to take the chance and then say "not to worry, next!" if you lose the lot
