I saw an old friend at the weekend. She's 33 years old and in my opinion quite attractive. During the conversation, my wife asked if she had a boyfriend and she replied," No." I asked if she was looking, to which she replied "Yes." However, she implied that she was waiting for the right man to find her.

I then suggested that one would be more likely to find her if she didn't wear a ring on her (wedding) ring finger. She seemed quite surprised that a ring there would put men off. rolleyes Admittedly, it was not a traditional wedding band, rather it was a more fancy one with a stone, but when I was in the dating game (well over a decade ago), that would have dissuaded me from making an approach.

So, a question to you single guys out there: what's your view on girls with rings and particularly a ring on the finger traditionally reserved for a wedding ring?

You wouldn't see a ring as a sort of challenge?

If she didnt have a ring i'd be quite disturbed!
But i know what you mean, if i saw a girl with a ring on her ring finger i wouldnt want anything to do with it.
Well i lie, i;d smash it either way!

A Polish girl I know wears a ring alternately on the third finger of her left and right hands - don't think there is any particular reason for which she chooses when she puts it on. She's "looking", too, and was surprised to learn of the implication when I told her.

So I don't know how "worldwide" the tradition of using that finger to denote attachment is.

So she's not too old, fit and a bit dim.
Sounds like easy pickings...scratchchin

I have a wedding ring that leave evidence for about 3 weeks. I have had ezcema for years, and occassionally need to remove my wedding ring for a couple of weeks.

If I was single I'd be looking at Not just the ring, but evidence on the finger of recent removal.

The forbidden fruit always tastes sweeter. But yeah, dozy mare a lot of bloke can't be dealing with baggage hassel so will see her 'wedding' ring and move on the to next woman.

It's like really stuck up women who think they are mysterious and independant. No, your just awkward and annoying.

1st thing I look for, don't want to waste any effort!
Well maybe 2nd thing I look for,
Or 3rd

ETA This rule only applies to rings worn on the 3rd finger, left hand.
Rings worn on any other finger, ear, toe, nipple etc don't count!

The title of this thread alluded to so much more potential. I want my bandwidth back.

In all seriousness - same here!
