I don't mean the green ones you get up your hooter, I mean the big black ones with feathers.
i live in Southport and for the first time this year have noticed the gradual appearance of Crows, especially near the beach. Now I'm a middle aged old fart and although I have seen them in Yorkshire and darn sarf, as far as I can remember they have never been around here before.
Why are they encroaching up north all of a sudden then? They look nasty bastids, worse than the magpies that appeared about 15 years ago.
Please don't tell me its global warming either. And I'm definately not some weirdo bird watching Bill Oddie saddo wannabe either.
Just wondered, thats all!

I've got no answer, but god Bill Oddey is a total cock!
I assume you refer to Mr William Oddie? Comic genius, avian expert and all round genial chap? What's wrong with the man? To me he seems the kind of chap one could enjoy a fine walk in the country with followed by a pint at a country inn. One would learn something about wildlife and probably be amused by tall tales of comic adventures in the past.
They come and go from around my way. Hate the ugly, noisy b
ds. They swoop at dogs, rip all of your plants to bits. They are one up from that most shootable of all creatures, the Cornwall Seagull.
We had hundreds of them constantly fighting making noise a couple of years ago. Go to have a pop at them, take the gun outside and they'd all vanish. Clever b
ds they are (that wasn't meant to sound like a west country accent, and I do realise that I'm talking about being outwitted by a flying animal that has a brain the size of a walnut).
A friend finally managed to shoot one of the gits, hung it up in a tree and they never came back.
