I heard an ad on the radio this morning for the DVLA.

They want us to make more use of their online services, so to encourage more participation they are giving away a little prize to people who tax or sorn their vehicles via their website.

The prize, one of 36 Seat Ibizas they are giving away over the next 12 months.

Good use of VED or what?

I'd imagine Seat are contributing a large amount of the cost.

And if in the long run it saves money by promoting the website (a web transaction is much easier and cheaper to process than a telephone or postal one) then, yeah, its probably a good idea.

I've done mine by the website and it's so easy, quick and when you can't find all your documentation brilliant because it does a record check for you.

Plus you don't have to deal with the people who work there or rely on the post for the disc.

Getting your 'customer' to do the work for you is always a good idea. It would save a fortune if everyone did it on line - so yea, good use of funds

I think thats worth mentioning again. Everything I've seen on this giveaway has mentioned that no DVLA money has been spent on this.

It's a bit harsch to blaim them for giving some of SEATs money away.

I would absolutely love to win a Seat Ibiza 1.4TDi Ecomotive.

I'd sell it, and spend the money on petrol.

No purchace is needed. If you go to the SEAT site and choose the Seat Ibiza 1.4TDi Ecomotive page it'll guide you through to the page where you can enter without buying tax. wink
