This case is more sickening than the Climbie case or is it?

Makes you look at the system though if Social workers saw the kid 60 times, and never once thought he was in danger or at risk.

Surely they must have noticed something!!!! I mean, i know the mother tried to hide the injuries, but surely these workers arent doing/ allowed to do do their job properly if such severe injuries can be so easily hidden.

Poor kid.....RIP

Good grief 60 visits by social workers and then you read:

In the 48 hours before the boy was found dead in his blood-spattered cot, a doctor failed to spot his broken spine.

Broken spine! FFS. I hope the cons inside are planning an appropriate punishment for this pair.

I am angry beyond words to be honest.

Again and again and again, it's 'cotton wool' treatment of the offenders.

Remember that scene from Shawshank Redemption where the guard goes to work on that rapist????

Queue starts here.

I was in France last week on business and saw a similar case on the news. Both parents took life - no redemption, 1 social worker got 1 year and 5 figures fine, 2 GPs got fined 175k € between them plus removal of their licence until further notice (knowing how the French administration works it could be quite a long time). The journalist said the case of neglect was so obvious that the defending parties and lawyers were at loss to come up with arguments. "Good" I thought!

Sincerely hope these get something similar.

Kind of puts the "dead babies" thread into context, doesn't it... Poor little bloke. What on earth were the social workers and doctors thinking!

There's too much pussyfooting around, observing the rights of the perpetrators. There are far too many of these kinds of cases. We should send a message to people considering maiming small children (and their own small children at that, FFS!). I don't see the Bali bombers going back for another go, if you get my drift...

Social Workers dragging kids out of normal homes and when children are being abused they are too stupid to see what's happening.

Who ever went to see this family should be sacked.

As for the parents words fail me, scum, pure scum.

Sad but until the scum responsible face real consequences for their actions then these things will never be totally stopped.

The social workers have to gather evidence the same as our police service do and sadly they cannot dig too deeply.

I am not a violent person but could gladly inflict immeasurable pain on the grown adults who could do this to a child.

Why cant one of them be named? furious

A0 photographs of them should be placed on the walls of the prison they are going to, just so no-one forgets who they are.

Reading the BBC article and seeing the accompanying images, blood-stained baby clothes, etc. makes me feel physically sick with revulsion towards these people.

As a society we desperately need to 'get medieval' on perpertraitors of this nature, it's the only way.

Don't worry. They'll get their 'reward' in prison. Make no mistake.

The question is... what the fk is wrong with people from Haringly? The offenders for abusing helpless infants, and the social services for being so jaw droppingly feckless/stupid to do anything about it? Two horrific cases from the same area! Is there something in the water that makes people regress backwards an evolutionary step or three?

Parents and responsible social workers all locked in a room. No light, no food, no water.

They are told only one gets to leave, when all others are dead.

Let em sort it out.

Then admit you lied about letting the last one out.

Alluded to earlier, but other than the horrific death of a young child at the hands of people who are evil beyond comprehension, how the hell did social services manage to visit this child over 60 times and fail to see or do anything?
