bds!!
Sorry to hear that mate. I've quite a few friends in the MX world so will keep my ears open and spread the word for you - I'm not a million miles away from Sussex so fingers crossed.
Good Luck,

Hoppy

A popular spot for riders is Toad Hall Valley - this is the large triangular field between the A27, King George VI Avenue and Downland Drive in Hove. Popular access points are the north end of Downland Drive and the layby on the westbound A27 just after the Dyke Road junction.

Riding there is prohibited, but it doesn't stop people going most weekends. If you can be bothered to pop up there with binoculars on Saturday/Sunday lunchtimes, you may have some luck. Call it in and RPU will take an interest as they love to get stolen vehicles back in.

Feel free to PM me your details - I'm local BIB and will keep a particular eye out.

There are a few local ones, I wouldn't advise strolling through though!

Indeed - if there's something that council house/pikeys love it's kids mx bikes.

My local mx shop won't have anything to do with them (even selling parts) cos of the custom it attracts, and his insurance won't let him have them on the premises. Another mate of mine owns a scooter shop near Halifax and he foolishly put an Aprilia mini-mx bike in the window. Got ramraided for it. I did warn him frown Not only that, we think the same pikeys were the ones that nicked his BMW 840.

By the way - no offence to the OP; I ride dirt bikes (got a CRF450R) and I've a lot of friends who are mx racers, however the thieving scum that the bikes attract beggars belief. They're like magnets. I swear to god I could leave a bag full of twenty quid notes on the ground and it wouldn't attract as much attention.

Thanks for the tips/advice everyone.

I will action where possible.

This is for a mate who's kids are so upset. They saved for months (age 8 and 11) to buy their bikes.

Mat

+1, no offence to you personally (or your mate), but MX bikes are almost as popular with pikey/chav scum as piercing your babies ears. I'm surprised anyone manages to keep one for more than 15 minutes without it being pinched.

Tell him to get the kids Karting! wink

Absolutely; my garage has a pair of R1s, supermoto/mx bike, boat engine, Merc SL, tool chests etc in it. What am I worried about getting pinched? The mx bike. Bloody ridiculous! frown
