Hi,

I have a vague recollection that some purchases made on a credit cards are covered by insurance for a period of time. I bought my g/f a camera for her 30th a couple of months back. Unfortunately some scrote broke in to her house yesterday afternoon and made away with it (and a few other bits).

As she isnt covered by her household insurance, is there likely to be any comeback with the CC?

Thoughts appreciated. I've had a look on the net and on the MBNA website but cant see anything...I wouldnt imagine they'd shout about it, mind.

Cheers

I think only some cards offer it, Barclaycard (remember the Rowen Atkinson ads with the burning rug) and HSBC Premier are two that spring to mind...

Edit... Found it

She gave it to the other chap she's seeing and doesn't have the heart to tell you. Nice of you to want to help her. Just buy her another one, then.

Barclaycard discontinued their purchase protection a few years back.

Soon after, MBNA offered it on their cards - think they still do.
