A spurned wife threatened her husband with a knife then rammed into his car after discovering he spent Father's Day with his 16-year-old girlfriend rather than his own children.
Sarah Jarman, of Swedish Houses in Upper Harlestone, near Northampton, confronted her 52-year-old husband, Neil, at his mother's home.

After finding out Mr Jarman was planning to move in with the girl, whom he met while volunteering at a youth cen tre, she pointed an 8ins blade at him and said: "I'll do time for you".

Malcolm Wilson, prosecuting at Leicester Crown Court, said: "When she arrived, she was upset and angry, to say the least, and there followed a very loud verbal altercation between the two.

"The defendant picked up the knife and, at some stage, uttered the words that she would do time for the complainant. She remonstrated about the fact he had a family and was ignoring his responsibilities as a result of the relationship he had forged with this girl."

The incident took place in Rainsborough Gardens, Market Harborough, on Sunday, June 15.

The next day, as Mr Jarman and the girl drove home after reporting the incident to the police, they were pursued by his wife in her Vauxhall Astra. She later rammed them four times.

Mr Wilson said: "He realised there were going to be problems. He feared she may still have the knife and, as a result, he made off at speed."

Jarman chased her husband's 4x4 at high-speed through Market Harborough. She struck with such force he was forced off the road and almost hit a tree.

Jacqueline Matthews-Stroud, defending, said Jarman became concerned about the time her husband was spending with the girl, whom he had met the previous summer, when she was 15.

She said: "She tried to tell the parents of the girl, but they did not believe her. Everyone thought she was wrong, but she knew she was right.

"Her husband had left in February and, by June, she knew he was thinking of renting a house.

"She realised he was renting somewhere and she realised he was intending to set up home with this girl. She snapped and acted in a way that, even now, she struggles to understand."

Jarman admitted threatening behaviour and dangerous driving. She was given a 12-month jail term, suspended for two years, was ordered to complete 160 hours of unpaid work and was banned from driving for two years.

Judge Philip Head, sentencing Jarman, said: "I entirely accept that what happened was the culmination of a great degree of marital stress, which I have no doubt boiled up and led to the explosion of dangerous criminal activity."

Whilst I'm onboard with the 'oh my, aren't women unstable' idea, I think her actions, while not to be condoned, can be understood. A 52 year old father squiring a 16 year old girl. Seedy..... at best...

hehe Nice.

Maybe I'll think differently when I'm 52, who knows? However, for now, I prefer my women a little more developed, both mentally and physically.

The essential difference between shagging a 16 year old and a 13/14 year old, for example, is an arbitary legal age-limit - frankly, whilst you probably won't go to prison, you're arguably still a paedophile......

Its a shame the wife didnt manage to cut his cock off, John Wayne Bobbit style, the filthy old perv. He certainly is well outside the half your age plus ten years rule.

As for the article, it's nothing new. In France, they have/had (been a while since I looked into it) a special thing called "crimes of passion", which pretty much enables you to get away with it. The case I recall was a lady who took a gun (I think it may have been a shotgun), and when her Boyfriend (who was cheating on her) pulled up at the traffic lights on his scooter, placed the gun under his chin, and fired...... IIRC she was not imprisoned as this was a crime of passion.

I think that she made her point though.

I wonder if he groomed his wife at a youth group before marrying her too?

Perhaps she couldn't find a lad her age up to the job and was fed up with sub human grunts and attitude, etc. Don't forget, humans aren't a million miles away from being animals and in the wild, a female wants protection, provision of food and somewhere safe to live. These days that comes down to money mostly, and usually older men are more stable, I'm not condoning the relationship, but you sometimes need to view situations from a different angle.

So what age is acceptable then? Is 18 acceptable? Because that's only 2 years away from 16, which you would argue is paedophilic...

I would disagree. Paedophilia relates to pre-pubescent kids. Therefore, strictly speaking, if there is a 17 year old girl who (for some reason) is still pre-pubescent, and you fancy her, you are a paedophile. If there is a 15 year old who is highly developed, you are not a paedophile for fancying her.

But I would agree, most 16 year old girls are a bit immature both physically and mentally for any healthy man's liking.
