aye depends on what you mean by 'catchup', the iphone '3G' with GPS etc was not a year late to market compared to other phones.

Wonder what apple will do next, iphone 5 MP before everyone else as well?! I wonder what it would be like to have a decent camera in a phone... oh , wait!

So do I. What phone does have a decent camera? Megapixels is not an indication of quality.

Depends on what you count as decent.

Nokia N73, N95, N82, SE K750, K800, K850, C905 - all can take pictures that look either good or great printed at 6x4/7x5 and sometimes at A4.

If the light conditions are perfect and the subject is simple bright colours biggrin

I'd love a camera in any phone that comes close to even an average compact, but they simply don't...

I'd never get another nokia, they look alright & have some cool features, but the cameras ste & the software is absolute toss.
It's slow & always crashes & the battery life's ste.
My N95 i had, the battery lasted 24hours if you were lucky!
& that was after sending it back for a repair & software update!
The iphone is fecking cool, but if you have an ipod it's kinda pointless really as that's all it is, an ipod with a phone in it.
The cameras rubbish on it (words from my friend who just got a iphone 3g).
It does look damn cool though!
I had an LG Viewty, the camera was quality on it, so was the video, the battery lasted for ages & i was gutted when i broke it!
The only downside to it was the full touch screen which was rubbish, the touch screen on the ipod phone however is awesome!

Yeah I've been waiting years for a phone to have battery life measured in minutes rather than hours.

My Renoir should arrive today, let you know. Main points being Iphone like interactivity with a good camera. Never understand why apple went so cheap on the camera for the iphone, and lack of mms is just weird.

Looks like one of the best phones out there for it's type at the moment. I reckon the iphone has some catching up based on the models coming out at the moment.

Cheers for the comments people, after doing some more research, it does appear to be the best around at the moment.

My LG viewty survived a trip down the toilet, I love the net browsing, Camera is good but struggles in low light ( but maybe i ask too much)

I do wish i had held out for an N96 though

My N96 is crap, utter utter crap, crashes everytime i get called, takes ages to load anything, shutter speed on the camera is worse than my N95 (which i couldn't fault). getting a replacement tomorrow to see if this one is a bad egg. if the new ones is the sma e its going on ebay!

the LG looks nice tho wink

Just playing with the renoir now. It does look good, impressed so far. Definitely prefer it to the iPhone.

My Viewty's battery failed & so did the scrolling wheel on it.
So i sent it back & they sent me a brand new phone.
I got hammered one night and dropped it in some wine, woke up in the morning and it was all behind the touch screen, apparently it wasnt insured against liquid damage so they woudlnt replace it!
I might get that Google phone or possibly the renoir when my contracts due for renewal/upgrade at the beginning of Jan!
