Dual Driver Headphones
Discussion
This morning I went to put my headphones in to blot out the commuters only to find that one of them is no longer attatched to the cable. I suspect it was lost last week so I am now faced with buying a new pair.
These were Ultimate Ears Super Fi 3's. Which I really rated. They were miles bettert tha V-Moda Vibe B's, Shure E2Cs, and anything from the more mainstream manufactures.
But I have seen a lot said about Dual Driver headphones, such as the UE Super FI 5's and the higher end Shure.
Opinions. Do they make that much difference? They are condiderably more expenisve. I did really rate my Super Fi 3's.
I do like to have a good pair of headphones as I use them almost every day for commuting and whilst in the gym, so I don't mind spending on them, but only if it really makes a difference.
Thanks

Check out these guys.... Just the best in ear monitors
I have just been fitted and the end result is amazing. 100 x better than and bose, shure, high end headphones.

Err... Dual driver, as in two micro speakers.never realised deaf drivers were allowed to drive....
Edited to add, if money isn't an issue, Shure SE530's are highly recommended. If money is plentiful, then Ultimate Ears 11 are the best out there

I have a pair of UE SuperFi 5's which, as you say, are bloody excellent. Ultimate Ears offer a good warranty - how new are they?
Before that I had some Shure e3c's but one of them stopped working - hadn't kept the reciept/warranty so no comeback. They were only single driver anyway.
I can't decide if a pair of headphones are genuinely worth £150 if you listen to mp3's... but the sound isolation is fantastic, especially on public transport. You can listen to great quality music without
a) giving yourself tinnitus, or
b) annoying the s
t out of the other passengers.

That said, had a great experience with the Future Sonics EM3's, and see they've changed them to M3/5/8/9 (different colours just).

Cheers guys. I was very impressed with my UE ones. The custom ones really do look good but at almost £100 over the UE 5's, possibly out of my price range.
I'll go for the UE.
Scraggles, I think you missed the point by a mile. As pointed out before I meant Dual Armature Drivers, as in 2 small speakers inside the headphone. Nothing to do with driving cars. I have a radio for that in the cars.

Hi
In audio setting, I've got:
Bass Boost: On
EQ: Customer EQ
then in Customer EQ
80 hz: +2
250 hz: -1
1K: +2
4K: +6
13K: +12
I find this keeps the bass extension of the 5EBs (which is fantastic), but rolls off the upper bass where things can get a bit coloured, and lifts the upper mid / treble to keep the clarity.
I went back to 5EBs over the Triple.fi 10 Pros as I prefer them (with the settings as above).
