I'm looking for somewhere in the Hinckley area, preferably the surrounding villages. Must be child friendly and preferably also somewhere fairly casual where we can get refreshments. Must be good for a couple of hours amusement, doesn't have to be an all-dayer. I'm looking for pubs/cafes, attractions or parks.

Any suggestions most gratefully received.

Twycross Zoo is near there. It's always fun there!

agree with Twycross

also Bosworth Field visitors centre - good if they have the living history going on

aside from that, take the A47 or A5 and get the hell out of thereblah

Cheers for the suggestions so far. Twycross is a bit far - I was sorta looking for somewhere little, really and closer to Hinckley if possible. Bosworth is a possibility though. smile

Go and see the Ultima Factory and visit Uncle Ted and cousin Richard. Plenty of nice cars for 'Junior' to smear his ice cream down laugh

It is a bit limited.

Could waste a few hours at Coombe Abbey though.

Mallory Park looks quite good, except they don't seem to accept casual weekday visits - it's all trackdays.

Any good family pubs around the area?

Market Boswrith is quite nice, some nice ponds/lakes to walk around, a village to have lunch and a couple of shops (Boutique)

Burbage common at the HInckley road end might keep kids amused for a couple of hours

Not bad but depends on the age of the kids TBH.
