Pffft. Says nothing for those that do not speak Welsh and until it is translated there is no story.

Now this one says it all in any language.

"In 2006, a shared-faith school in Wrexham removed a sign which translated the Welsh for staff as "wooden stave".

To confuse everyone else. Its brilliant listening to people in uni trying to pronounce local place names!

I asked myself this many, many times as an English schoolchild finding himself in Wales during his late primary and secondary education.

I was forced to learn it and this culminated in having to drop one of the three usual GCSE subjects of French, Geog or Hist.

Needless to say, I thank my lucky stars I have a GCSE in Welsh every frickin' day here in celtish Kent.

Why not. It was here before english. People still speak it all over Wales. Not me as the english saw to that a few generations ago so certain areas are a tad lax in the use.

Mind you, telling an aged Welsh speaker in a pub in Caernarfon that he spoke Welsh with a Liverpool accent nearly gave him a heart attack. He did accuse us of being conquered Welsh so it degenerated from there.
