It's my last day in my current job today. Apart from the obvious and getting drunk at lunch time - I was just thinking what sort of things would you all like to do if you were leaving your current job.

Assume no repercusions (including the law!) and you can walk away and forgot everything.

I would group email the management and explain exactly what I thought of their leadership (or lack of it).

Phone the local paper and ask for a reporter to come and cover the massive donation to charity that the MD will be making outside the main entrance this afternoon.

Buy stink bombs from a joke shop and break them into the aircon system.

Childish, but could be amusing.

Guy next to me's last day too. He has spent the morning dossing, trying to wind people up.. etc. We're going down the pub at lunch as a tradition, and for a laugh he has emailed the MD saying something like "Today is my last day, I've worked here for 2 years and we have never even spoken. But I was wondering if you fancied coming down the pub at 12 today for drinks? Drinks are not on me."

I thought that was a pretty nice touch! hehe

Assuming you've resigned to move on to better things, leave on a good note and thank the management. You never know if you might need to give them a ring when you're job hunting in the future.

Couldn't agree more. There is professional circuit in town anywhere whereby I'll be seeing everyone at various events - so I'm not going to be doing anything stupid.

Just a quick hypothetical rather than doing any work.

ps - I will still be drunk at lunch time though - so my posts on here after 3pm maybe a bit ..... different!

hypothetically, i'd get drunk in the pub then run down to transport and 'borrow' one of their earthmovers for a quick rampage around the carpark before using it for the commute home.

I'm leaving today too. I'm a bore and sent out half a dozen kiss-arse emails to my users & management.

But there is a last hurrah in the pub at noon smile

Hit the fire alarm button on your way out to the pub. This is even better if:

a: its raining
b: the pub is in view of the fire assembly point.

If you've got a suspended ceiling, lift out on of the tiles when no-one is looking, insert dead fish (kipper is fine, pollock as a backup), remove ceiling tile.
