I've noticed a marked increase in the number of people I see saying they can't really afford it but they want something to get on with while they wait for the NHS.

I've got a client who lives opposite one of those private sheltered accomodation places.

Estate agent was saying what good repeat business it was.

Totally unaffected and still growing, however we're linked to big Pharma Co's R&D so should be pretty safe as they can't stop spending on new products.

We're doing more of one thing, but less of another. We're up overall.

in Commercial contract cleaning, so far, touch wood there has been only minor reduction due to one of our larger clients being in the financial service sector making redundancies and quitting a couple of floors of their office space.

However we have noticed that the business centres we clean have had quite a few of their tennants fall behind with their rent and get evicted from their offices or have just folded and gone. Thankfully our contract is for the buildings as a whole and not related to the number of offices occupied. So it doesn't have a direct impact on us, but it certainly shows signs of the economy being very sick as these business centres were fully let 2 years ago, now they are chasing tennants.

I'm busier than ever. Glad I'm in NHS dentistry as I've heard a few stories of private places being dead.

I an electrical engineer for industrial work. As a small company we charge less than a lot of the bigger firms.

So we are fully booked up until about May/June time. Next big project already signed to begin in September time too. So pretty sorted and can't keep up at moment.

We have basically been unaffected. People still need their accounts prepared every year and so our only concern is whether our clients stay in business.

In one of our offices (Bath) we tend to be significantly cheaper than the competition. So if anything a recession that led people shopping around for cheaper suppliers would be good for us here. In fact we have had a couple of enquiries lately on that basis.

We're about 30% down on last year and are shedding unprofitable staff. No deadweights allowed.
