theres a section that prepares the rubber and inserts etc, then theres a section that moulds them, using compression moulding or injection moulding, then they get moved on to kniffing machines and sprung by hand

JCB on a downward turn so that's crap news but I hear Ford are investing heavily in engine developement so thats got to be good.
Anyway good luck we all need it, even the smug.

Sorry i have no idea what on earth you are talking about.

I assume you have been made redundent based on the thread title. Sorry to hear that, move on, and quickly as a lot more will follow you thats for sure. Competing for jobs will only get harder and harder for the foreseable future. Good luck

It was a terribly written, very vague post that was rather difficult to understand.

Sorry to hear this.

Not surprising though, nobody is buying cars and there are airfields full of unsold stock. I heard this morning that Ford has shut down one of it's UK lines.

Working in manufacturing, for the car industry, in the North East, may seem a bleak outlook but there are pockets of industry doing OK like the Oil Industry. Pump manufacturers & other specialised oil industry stuff.

Good luck.

You say you've been looking for another job for a few months, can I ask if that's because of the downturn in work i.e job security or for a change in career?

to be honest fancy somthing abit different, im 26 now, and since leaving school ive worked in the automotive production industry, anything from making seats for nissan, steering systems for toyota and bmw, to engine seals, ive looked and searched on posts about the oil industry working offshore which really intrests me but seems difficult to get into, it seems these days, it not what you no but who you know
