All Over The Shop
Discussion
Just watched a brilliant programme on BBC2 called 'All over The Shop'.
Basically, it's a bit like the John Harvey-Jones "Troubleshooter" programmes of old (but much more basic), whereby the expert (Geoff Burch) visits retailers and tells them what to do to turn their business around.
It was pretty basic stuff, and I have to be honest fundamental; but bloody damn good viewing.
Watching it did make me wonder how some of these retailers survive.
For example, on tonights show they had 2 sisters who run a gift shop, but one of the sisters also makes bespoke/personalised tableware, cards, etc, etc. So they had a shop .... but no website .... no catalogue ..... no idea what a computer was .... etc, etc.
As I say, it's a pretty basic programme, but could easily be an hour long, focusing on more detail on each of the 3 retailers he focuses on each week.
And as stated above, how the hell do some of these retailers survive!
