Not in the patio sense, sadly. My wife has loaned the MIL said amount. Due to the MIL being next to useless she has not paid back more than two of the monthly £200 payments in the last year. At the moment the 'wife' is not speaking to the MIL. Note: 1. 6K was money I had saved for 'fun' car fund (i.e. my bloomin money) and 2. Loan idea was floated to me in a slightly misleading way (desperate MIL keeping repo's at bay). Topic is : Is this a bargain, I feel I have disposed of MIL for life for a relatively small sum. Possibly I have a moral right to hate MIL and not to have to talk to her ever again....

Never lend money to family or freinds, if you must do it, then accept the chances are you will not see that money again.

Never lend to family and friends, its rare to find that you'll ever have it returned and in the long run it could cause friction.

Also you are now minus that car you've been saving for. Happy days eh fella?

Absolutely yes she will be even less likely to talk to you once the bailiffs have called and repossessed the wide-screen TV, etc. biggrin

How much do you like the wife? No matter how pissy she is at the moment, she is unlikely to cut off her own mother.

I suspect you've had an expensive 'life lesson'. Never lend money to family; by all means give it, and hope they give it back. But never lend.

I'm for that if she's a total bh.

Otherwise if she's nice like my MIL-to-be, then I suggest patching things up and making her feel responsible for her actions. Make it look like your are struggling financial and if you had that £6k, things would be so much easier......make her feel it.

Reverse psychology her ass.

Start turning up unannounced and say you're staying for dinner, and you'll knock a tenner off what she owes you. Then invite mates round to "catch up on the footy". Be generous and buy her an XBox and plug it into her TV so when you are being generous and coming over for dinner (to save her an other £10), you'll have something to do. It wouldn't be your fault if your mates got use to a slap up dinner and an evening of XBox.....

2 months and you'll have your money back.

Chase her up for the money. Use 'times are hard' etc etc.
Then never lend her money again.

Get the money off her and never talk to her again. A trip to the small claims court should be enough wink

Chase the money. Your typical heroin monkey will stab someone for £500. The remaining £5500 would buy a decent fun car and the MIL is still out of the picture.

[my god I'm feeling full of happy evils today hehe]

i have the worst and now my wrath is unleashed

the worst episode is when she told my family that i was seeing women off the internet! lying bh

1) bought a lizard for my daughter and named it after the mother in law she was so happy till she found out it was a bearded dragon!

2) banned from my house

3) taught daughter to verbally rip her to st; with such lines as

Get the cash back, but in a way so that it's not all hunky dory afterwards, so you don't have to see her either.
