Who has written a Will? Any unusual (not monetary) requests? Apart from the usual "my estate I bequeath to John Doe" what else can you put in it thats legally binding?

Read some article about designer coffins adorned with your footie team flags or made to look like your favorite F1 car and started thinking about my send off, maybe converting ashes to Diamonds, but I really fancy being cremated, as being buried next to or on top of someone else does not do it for me.
Although im dead, its nice to know your loved ones will grant your dying wish.

But no ordinary cremation, I want a Viking funeral, rope a simple wooden raft together, tow me out to one of the seven seas and set it alight.

I wonder if that is legal nowadays? Governments dispose of all kinds of deadly stuff in the ocean all the time, thousands die at sea, so why would they object to this?

I haven't either, and really should now that I am a single parent. Can anyone tell me, would my estate automatically (if I don't have a will) go to my son? Or my parents?

Are you expecting to be ethnically cleansed and then buried in a mass grave or something?

Your son would get what is left from your estate after Gordon has taken his cut (possibly 40%) if you don't have a will.

I have a combined last will and testament/living will.
In addition to the normal "who gets what" I've also stipulated that I do not wish to be "saved" if it means living the rest of my life minus 2 or more limbs or as a cabbage (no comments, thanks!).
It also states the tunes to be played at my funeral (including Crazy World of Arthur Brown as me/coffin are committed to the flames!) and where my ashes are to be scattered.
My Father died this year and it fell to me to make these decisions, I'm not going to leave that sort of st for my children!

The only thing my wife and I wrote in that was questioned by some was our decision to give guardianship of my two daughters (16 and 11 at the time) to my 18 year old son.
We, however, reasoned that he was definately in the best position to know what we would have wanted for the three of them had the worst happened.

Or move to the Isle of Man, no inheritance tax there.

Seeing as you are buying a new chainsaw, have you got a will?

If you're a union member they often have free will writing services (as long as it's nothing too complicated)

Nope. But I definetly want "Consideration" by Reef to be played at the funeral. If it happened tomorrow, I'd like my ashes to be scattered at Cadwell, but hopefully, I've got a few years left in me.

We have the facility to recomend will writing services. (although several of the companies in this market went bust a little while ago) Personally I'd rather get the will written by a lawyer, not a one size fits all firm. It'll cost more, but may save a lot of hassle for your heirs should you shuffle off this mortal coil unexpectedly.
