Hi all, a friend of mine is off to florida and was wondering if any one has bought tickets( disney epcot etc ) in the uk or found them cheaper in the states Cheers Jason
We went to Disneyworld Florida earlier this year, bought the tickets directly from Disney USA website. Aferwards I was advised by many that it is cheaper to buy them from Disney UK. No ideas why.The way the exchange rate is going you'll get a good deal if you buy them in the USA right now.
Unless there is a "deal" going in the UK it's better to buy them in the states. If you haven't been there before then the priorities set what you will need. In Summertime I'd also allow more time than in the "off season" months. Generally Epcot and Magic Kingdom need 1.5 to 2 days each with The Studios and Animal Kingdom a day each. You will want to visit Universal Studios which is a day and if you like BIG coasters Islands of Adventure will need a day. Sea World is definitely worth a visit as is NASA. That's 9 days. The remaining days should be set aside for shopping and relaxing. After trooping around the theme parks you WILL need some down time. NASA we did in the hire car and the drive was pretty interesting. Have some change ready for the Toll roads out of the Airport and for NASA. You'll need to use the "Bee-line". It's not a massive amount but it's handy to just be able to throw the change in rather than wait. As others have said the Old Town in Kissimee is well worth a visit especially if it's a Friday night when the "Cruise" is on. When we were there Old Mini's seemed to abound but it's best for the old American cars. We Plan to be there in 2009 after doing Vegas in 2007.

The better night for the Old Town cruise (which is miles from the centre of Kissimmee) is Saturday.
Most all of the Theme Parks over there are $70/day with discounts for buying multiple day passes. For Disney it is much cheaper to get a 7 or 14 day pass on this side of the water. We went for a 14 day pass and used it on 7 occaisions but it was nice to have the days off inbetween. If you're pikey get a 7 day pass and a bulk load of caffeine drinks.

We were there in May, and it was hot, very hot, did I say it was hot? Good grief, I would NOT want to be there in mid summer, I know that for sure. ]
In Epcot they do have these cool water vapour shower things that cool you down, but not enough of them, and not in all the parks.
