Skills you have that you NEVER test
Discussion
When I was a lad I could guarantee winning a coconut on a fairground shy. Every ball would hit the mark and lead to a toppled prize. I still pride myself on this skill, thinking that whenever I may need a coconut sometime in the future it will be there for the taking.
Many opportunities have come and gone since these glory days and I ALWAYS pass them up. I say "nah, that's ok, I don't need a coconut" but inwardly I'm burning up with desire to hit something hairy (yes, yes).
I laugh it off for one reason only: it is not because I have grown out of such childish activities but maybe, just maybe, I've lost my skill and I won't then be able to say I'm great. I won't be able to say "I'm great at coconut shies."
Anyone else have skills they are sure they have, but don't want to risk being disappointed?

I used to be able to leap a BMX bike from one bowl to the next, over a walkway at Southsea skatepark. I'm fairly sure that if I tried that now I would snap my own head off.
It has been at least 20 years since I've been on a half pipe. I'd be dead in about 5 seconds if I were foolish enough to try again.
I used to be able to skateboard, now I think I'd just break my neck.
I used to be able to put my feet around my neck, or adopt the lotus position and then run on my knees (both when drunk, both still funny, but neither achievable in my current level of fitness.
I used to be able to do the crab, although haven't tried that one for a while.
I used to be able to climb anything that took my fancy, although recently I locked myself out and had to climb a six foot fence. In a skirt, and heels.
I used to be able to figure out most logic puzzles in stupidly short time frame, now I'm just puzzled.
I used to be able to shoot a wide array of guns with decent accuracy - the closest I've come recently was winning the company paintball and zapzone tournaments.
Actually I used to be able to play football and waterpolo too..now I'd just look very very stupid.

V8. We are like coconut brothers.
I went to a kids fete recently. They had a shy. People were throwing the balls and hitting the coconuts. The lady gave them a coconut.
Confused was I as all these balls were hitting the coconuts, then bouncing off.
Shylady: "If you hit it you get to keep one, you can't knock them off"
Me: "Well, I'll have a go"
With a monster wind up I nearly caught a wondering 3 yr old with the back of my arm.
I missed the mark with the first two shots, but the third hammered home. The coconut king was toppled.
The crowd cheered. (Well I did inside anyway)
I love coconutses

When I was alot younger I used to be able to do some fairly basic BMX tricks (was only 12) sitting on the seat and sticking my feet over the handlebars, standing while moving with one foot on the seat and one on the frame without holding the handlebars, that kind of thing.
If I even attempted to ride no-hands now I'd probably end up eating pavement.
Fairly recently I had a go on a skateboard and came off it at some speed, scraping the hell out of my back and arms - but I could never do that anyway.
