Was in the local snooker club with my grandad about 7 years ago.

He put a quid in, he 'says' for the first time ever.

The way he pressed the buttons this could well be true.

£200 jackpot. He had to be told how to collect it.

I still struggle to get over it.

Used to clear out around the £75 mark regularly at a local.

Would watch the pot accumulate through the Friday or Saturday evening. At the right point we (2 mates and I) knew it would take around £15 to make it to pay out. Each chip in even amount of cash.

When the player gave up we'd slip in, play slowly so it didn't look like we'd pulled a fast one and then clear up. Split the win 3 ways smile

Bar manager thought it was funny as nobody ever twigged what we were up to biggrin

£8 is hardly the jackpot. Not unless you've somehow slipped through the space time continuum back to the 1980s.

How do you know when the right time is though? I only play them now and again, whilst having a swift pint, like last night when i nipped out to get away from the mayhem at home

I once managed a £250 jackpot in the students union, was a bugger to carry in £1 coins though. But did make the day go blurry.

A couple of years back I won 10,500 USD on a fruit machine in Las Vegas. The Kerchunking went on for ages and everybody looks at you. Never gambled since. It's a mugs game.

One week in my local the fruit box when haywire and me and a mate worked out how to make it pay up from a couple of quid. We took the jackpot plus repeater from it 5 times in 7 nights (£50 per night) between us.

Our fun was ruined when the landlord realised what we were doing and the miserable bastid got the machine fixed. hehe

where i work as we are in the sports industry alot of the guys bet on horse racing and football, i've never bet on race/game, i will play fruit machines now and again as i can at least gauge to some degree if i'll actualy win anything.

I agree, it is a mug's game.
