ok, sensationalist headline, she was actually a drug seller and she probably had it coming.

The bit I don't understand is, the report makes it sound like she had her ear cut off, a la Reservoir dogs, but in the photo her left ear looks perfectly ok to me! (I have done worse with a razor while shaving my head in a hurry)

Yeah, "It's not the money it's the principle that counts".
Besides, they haven't taken into consideration the situation of that poor drug dealer. If he misses a mortgage repayment he could be out his home. The credit crunch has clearly hit him hard.

To be honest, if you are in the 'drug dealing' line of business, it does help to have a 'hard bd' reputation, and cutting peoples ears off for a ten pound debt and shooting other people in the legs for money owed will help that reputation.
