I know the answer, you just carry it in.

However, there's a story in the paper today about some poor sod who had terminal cancer who shot himself on a ward, with a gun that he either brought in, or had brought in.

It's a pretty unpleasant thing to happen, but what struck me was that the press always manage to find a hospital worker (this time in the restaurant) who is concerned at just how someone managed to get a gun into the hospital she works in "especially as we handle cash here every day".

I presume she avoids banks, McDonalds and pretty much anywhere on the face of the earth that handles cash and doesn't search people for guns?

A strange thing to take out of a sad story I admit, but FFS where do they find these people (I know, hospital restaurants)?!

It "The media" right, and in todays media, you can't jsut have a story, it has to have an angle, and most of all the opinion of some fking halfwit, be that halfwit the reporter, an "analyst" or a member of the public.

See "Man shoots himself in hospital after cancer treatment fails" is quite a good story.....but not really newsworthy.
"man shoots himself in Hospital with gun, smuggled in by illegal immigrants, whilst very nearly being in the same room as children and threatening the lives of countless hospital employees who love the planet more than life itself" now thats got legs.

Not forgetting the effect a discharge of a gun (particulates - sudden energy release - movement of air causing a hurricane) has on global warming change thingy climate

You got there before me.

My "favourite", combining the essential media angle and the fathomless stupidity of the general public, was in the aftermath of the shooting of Jill Dando. A woman who lived down the road was asked what she thought about it all to which she replied, "Well, it's absolutely terrible! Children play in this street!"

Just heard about this, there is no security checks to get into the cancer wards, you just say who you are and get let in- when they tend to know you when you are visiting someone with terminal cancer frown
Terrible thing to happen for the 5 other patients- if it was full at the time, the staff see some heartbreaking stuff, but this is something else frown
