So, Osborne throws the first punch, and Mandelson kicks him in the knackers back.

Talk about tit for tat, if you're going to have a drink together on someone's boat, play nicely boys! hehe

Mandy is an odious little man....how he can represent anything remotely 'labour' is beyond me.

As for rewarding corrupt behaviour with his lordship..... disgusting...

lol, not exactly a unbiased forum there.

I think its either run by the junior Torys or the BNP.

Notice how the same people seem to be most recommended in all the debates.

Horrible negative place.

Errr. It's FULLY MODERATED and run by the BBC.

At least the BBC have the guts to publish the contributors negative comments about themselves. They get credit from me for that - even if I do think they show horrible bias in the their political reports.

From my understanding it's not Mandelson who revealed the story to the public but actually Nathaniel Rothschild. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7683365.stm .I believe Rothschild is a long time buddy of both Cameron and Osborne and the question is what is he to gain by revealing the details.

I don't get what the big deal is. Someone offered the Conservatives a donation, and the guy said "That's very generous of you but we'll have to decline". So what's the big problem? Or is it Labour desperately trying to knock the stuffing out of the Tories?

Do you really believe that Mandelson was not the manipulating force behind this? You do know who Peter Mandelson is?

Mandelson has been associated with several well publicized sleazy affairs and is quite capable of being the source of the trash. What i'm asking is what's in it for Mr. Rothschild, who is not only a long time friend of the Tory high command but a well known tory supporter.

If that is what happened fair enough, you can't help discuss these things, even to say 'No thank you', which is exactly what should have happened, Osborne should have run a mile in the opposite direction.

BUT, what we have are a number of witnesse who were there & involved, who say that instead of saying 'No thank you' they tried to work out ways of getting the money in, funnelled through LDV. That is not saying 'No thank you' and walking away, that is running up arms wide open and trying to work out how to do it sneakily.

George has made a grave error of judgement IMO. Not least in talking about this with Mandelson within earshot, and others too. But, more importantly, in government, they are supposed to represent the British people and British business, not be in the pockets of, and indebted to, foreign business. That is why it is illegal and they should have run away from this, not towards it.

I know it is in some ways a fuss about nowt, and it is very much Mandelsons revenge, but I'm very disappointed with the boy George. We want better than this from them. I'm not so sure it's a pack of lies conjured up by Mr M & his cronies by way of revenge, I reckon it's the truth by way of revenge, and that's why there is so much fuss.

Yeah, and why allow the facts to get in the way of a PH 'political debate'. You do know who Rothschild is?

Do you believe Rothschild was so easily 'manipulated'? I doubt it. He is most likely peed off that conversations held privately in his home, among his 'trusted' friends were plastered all over the tabloids by the greasy toad Osbourne.

Can Osbourne now keep his job? I hope not. I thought the Tories had tried to get rid of this type of sleazy slime, but he's caught with his nose wedged firmly up the crack of the Russian oligarch. Yuck.
