Just saw this article here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/tennis/7660640.stm

The quote reads: "It's a tough loss but I still felt I played good."

Can anyone spot the problem with that?

I'm sure I'm going to get replies telling me to get out more, but it seems to be happening more and more everywhere you go (especially on here!)

Tell me I'm not the only one! smile

Yes, that's a quotation not a quote.

Quotation = noun
Quote = verb

Your thread title is wrong. It has double negative therefore making its' meaning ambiguous.

6/10 see me.

A better title would have been 'Is there regard for grammar anymore?'

or 'Does grammar get no regard?'

Not sure I like the anymore tacked on the end either. To indicate time I would have used.

'Is there still any regard for grammar?'

No, that one is correct - the grammar is possessive - 'their grammar'. 'Anothers' with no apostrophe is a plural, which is nonsense.

As far as grammar applies to Pistonheads
Perhaps the problem is in the quasi-informal nature of internet forums.

Oftern posters like to use a style that is akin to the spoken word as opposed the written in word. This must lead to grammatical inconsistencies that rankle some the purists amongst us.

However as there are no formal rules applicable to forums we must be watchful that standards do not drop significantly beyond previously accepted levels of good grammar. The consequences of winch would result in the loss of the mass apple of PH. Leaving just a few posters talking utter gibberish.
