Sunday gone i got a text off my son's football coach wishing him luck in a game he had been selected to play in , i replied , thanking him and said i would pass the message on .
The coach had obviusly read the message , then not locked his phone and it had rang me . I answered but could only hear a conversation between the coach and another parent , this was sgging off my son , his loyalty towards his Sunday football club and his loyalty to his team mates , then they started on me !! , well i was well livid but listened for a while as i believe anyone would . I then rang the parent involved in this conversation and told him that i had heard the full conversation about my lad , i told him to tell the coach to sort his phone out and call me straight away ( which took about 3 hours and done very sheepishly ) , the rest is another story altogether , but it just got me thinking , what other instances like this have occured to you or yours ???

Know as "Mobicide", the act of comitting virtual relationship suicide by having acidentally pressed call on your phone and allowing your OH to hear you sgging her off to your mate.

I cant recall me ever overhearing anything. But my mate had a g/f and cheated on her, the reason she found out was that he went home with some other girl, whilst his trousers were on the ground, one of them must have stood on the the trou in the heat of the moment, but dialed last number on the fone which hsappened to be his ex g/f, she missed the call but left a voicemail of the ilegal shag! my did I laugh when I found out!

I wouldn't. If anyone ever phones me by accident like this, I wouldn't really want to listen in on their conversation.

You might say that now - but when it happens, you'll be locked in to the chat like the rest of us...

No, it's happened a couple of times to me. Isn't it a bit creepy to be listening in on others conversations?

The only problem is that if it happens to a landline it can stop you making calls.

Haven't overheard someone else's conversation but have indeed committed mobicide once myself...

Was catching up with an old friend, old band mate from uni and we were ahem... re living the old days I guess you could say. Anyway, he lives on a farm in the middle of nowhere in a large dip where it's almost impossible to get mobile reception regardless of who you are with.

So there we are, 3 in the morning chilling in his garden talking about things that should have remained private or at least not discussed in front of the missus when the God of Mobicide unlocked my phone in my pocket and dialled my then home number, leaving the ex with a long, detailed and very clear voicemail full of information on present and past activities.

Oblivious to this, I left his house the next morning I called home, no answer... then got a message saying she had gone to her parents and I should listen to the voicemail I left her at 3am. Oh sh!t.

Got home, listened to the voicemail and actually felt extremely relieved as it was probably the least scandalous story that had been recorded compared to all the others. Had a week of peace and quiet then before she came home and started nagging again. Unfortunately for her I really enjoyed the time without her so left her shortly after!

The Lord works in mysterious ways biggrin

or discussing going to a strip club with your mates, that was awkward to say the least.

No-one with a name starting 'Aero' is allowed to discuss strip clubs on PH.

Tis the law.

I got a 'wrong number' message left on my phone the other day, some aggressive-sounding bloke saying 'Listen, if you don't call me back right now I'm gonna send the fcensoreding bailiffs round'.

Witheld number...

I used to spend hours listening to cell phone conversations - this was before they went digital frown. Anyone with a basic scanner could listen in - I've overheard some very interesting stuff, but this was years ago and long since forgotten.

Not necessarily. A bloke I used to work with did a similar thing at the Christmas do. He was a bit pissed and his missus (also a member of staff) wanted to go on to a club with some of the others. He wasn't feeling up to it so he told her to go on without him and he'd catch up with her when he'd finished his pint. Pretty much straight after she left, he copped off with one of the cleaners and took her back to his hotel room. He got a phone call from his missus who was now wondering where he was. He hit a button on his phone to mute it and carried on with the job in hand. A minute later he could hear a feint voice on the phone - he reckons he hit the number pad accidentally and actually answered the call. He wasn't sure what she heard and was stting it the next day. She never said anything to him so he thinks he got away with it.
