I’m calling on the collective wisdom of my fellow PHers to provide me with some inspiration and guidance.

Me and the wife have been invited to a fancy dress party that takes place in a few weeks time. I haven’t been to one of these for about ten years. I need suggestions as to what to ‘go as’.

I suppose me and the missus could wear complimentary outfits.

As a guide neither of us are clinically obese so we could wear anything within reason. However I don’t particularly want people staring at my wife’s norks, and it will be winter.

Any pictures of your own successful costumes are most welcome, but I won’t be able to see them until I get home tonight due to my work’s Draconian IT policy.

I await your responses…

There ain't one - just 'fancy dress'. It's being held in a private room in a nice village pub.

Gangster and Maul are always easy. Pinstripe suit, bowling shoes and a hat! She just puts her hair up and slaps on the make up. Big feather boa and she's done.

Batman and Wonderwoman, but swap outfits. Did this once and went out on the lash in a Batgirl costume! All lycra tights and gloves and minidress thing hehe

We held a party for work a couple of years ago and one couple came as Kill Bill. She in the track suit with sword. He in a black suit and tie with one arm tucked behind his back carrying a fake arm he'd made out of foam and wires - they looked great.

Me and my mate went as Milli Vanilli to my 30th Fancy Dress party.
One blue and one red jacket, dreadlock wig, face 'blacked up', leggings underneath denim shorts, and Dr Martin boots.

Girl you know its true,
