Apart from limiting immigration, any imaginative suggestions for limiting the UK population growth?

How do they know when they have reached 70m people? I have a feeling that they have absolutely NO IDEA how many people currently reside in the UK.

So, who in government looked at China and thought that was a good way to run a country.

With largely only chavs breeding, and at a terrific rate, what hope is there? A whole Country of 70 million either employed by the state or scrounging from it really won't work. rolleyes

It's time the government woke up to the fact that there are two breeds of people in the human race, those that want to make something of their lives, and those that should die - I don't feel this is too harsh an idea. biggrin

Wouldn't work - such a licence would cost anyone employed money (another tax) but free for those on benefits (Labour voters?). Would you like to bet money on it?

Experts say this means 69% of Britain's predicted population growth maybe associated directly, or indirectly, to immigration.
The country could probably take that, but the quality of life would decrease.

The big problem is that humans' purpose is to breed.
Nature would (and will) take care of overpopulation eventually, but we are interfering with it (not saying it's bad) due to medicine etc.

If only there was a way to limit it without the bad side effects.

And we can't stop immigration from the EU, that power has been signed off.

If I ever have children, I am not planning on more than 2 - just replacing myself and my OH.

Shouldn't be allowed to breed when on benefits.

If the roads are anything to go by this country is full enough as it is.

More people create more pollution, more CO2 emissions and more waste, and put an upwards pressure on house prices. No thanks.

Where would we find people to take up jobs such as builders, mechanics and soldiers?

Shouldn't be a thing called benefits - we should all pay less tax, along with loss of employment insurance. This way, I don't have to pay another six figures in tax in order to prop up a couple of lazy chav families who do nothing BUT breed, cause crime, and generally make MY life a misery.

We were not all born equal, but by Christ, anyone can make a life of it if they so choose - those that don't, shouldn't be entitled to anything.

Though i may get flamed this is mostly down to immigration, though ethnic minorities account for a small percentage of the population they nearly match the birth rate of white's according to NHS statistics. So if this is true then we will have to adopt a chinese style birth policy and stop couples having 12 kids and scrounging of society to home and feed them.
