More courier gripes...
Discussion
Just what does it take to get things delivered by courier these days?!
I currently have two parcels out with two different courier firms. Neither has been delivered on time.
In the first one, the company took it upon themselves to decide that our postcode - which contains two zeroes - is an "inadequate address". They didn't call the dispatching company, or me, to verify the postcode. But then again, they didn't need to - just key it into any postcode finder to see that it does actually exist. And not only does it exist, but they've actually delivered here before.
And the second one sent a huge parcel to Sheffield instead of Slough "by mistake". It was logged in Sheffield at 03.42 this morning, but they're incapable of getting it back down here and delivered to me today. Well okay, so deliver it tomorrow instead, says I! Nope, can't do that without the dispatching company paying extra. Well, excuse me?! It's not their fault the couriers can't tell the difference between Slough and Sheffield, so surely the Saturday delivery should be done at the expense of the courier company in the interests of goodwill?
What is the point in paying courier companies to do their jobs if all they can do is spout excuses for failing to do their jobs?
That's made me really grumpy now.

Courier came to work this morning with one parcel, we were supposed to have two.
He said that it had been lost in the night and promptly laughed about it.
He then had the cheek to ask if he could use our phone to enquire about it, but the lines are down at the moment. He thought we were kidding!

Ordered a couple of bits from MX5Parts on Tuesday afternoon at 3pm...
Got home on Wednesday night to find a card through the door saying that they had tried to deliver the parcel at 10:15 but no was home.
The card (Interlink i think) left gave me a four options:
1. Arrange for a re-delivery
2. Arrange for a saturday delivery (at an extra cost) or morning delivery (again at an extra cost
3. Pick it up from the depot
4. Tell them where to leave the parcel eg. outside of with a neighbour.
Two minutes on their website and I got home last night to find it left outside the backdoor as agreed.
Can't complain at that!

They probably wanted to get rid of the MX5 parts pdq, in case their competitors got to hear of them stooping so low.Got home on Wednesday night to find a card through the door saying that they had tried to deliver the parcel at 10:15 but no was home.
