Hmmmm..... redundancy again
Discussion
2nd time in 12 months I'm up for 'consultation'
Only this time, I know there is absolutely no chance of retaining a job at the end of it.
Currently trying to work out if I have some kind of legitimate claim against the company to compensate me for any loss made on selling my recently bought company car. (Opted out of the car scheme a few weeks ago.....)

The Welsh Development Agency will provide funding for re-training, which is a good thing.
However, I have absolutely no idea what I'd re-train as.
I did think that maybe getting an HGV license might be a good idea - but not sure if it would make me the kind of money I'd consider to be the bare minimum to keep me going.
Anyone know what the chances are of getting decent work for someone with a new HGV license? - especially interested in chances of getting good-money European runs etc.
I wouldn't want to do it long-term, only until the economy recovers and I can go back into my usual field.

Sorry to hear that, I was made redundant 1 month ago tomorrow and i haven't managed to find a new job yet.
Good luck though.
I was made redundant end of July and I'm still not working, although I have a telephone interview tomorrow which I am very optimistic about.Good luck though.
I've registered with loads of websites and there's definitely work out there, but I can afford to be picky thanks to my redundancy payout being calculated on 13 years service.
However, some of the results of those emailed searches beggar belief. One of them regularly manages to miss every single one of the search criteria by a wiiiiide margin. I'd unsub from it but it gives me a daily chuckle.

There are quite a few jobs of this type available at the moment, but you will probably need to get digital taco training as well.Anyone know what the chances are of getting decent work for someone with a new HGV license? - especially interested in chances of getting good-money European runs etc.
