Put the TV on to watch the lunchtime news, and ters a load of interviews with various olympic personages. Never mind, try BBC News 24. Needn't have bothered, same think on that channel too.

How does this qualify as news?

It's not. It's government propaganda.

WE DON'T WANT THE F CKING OLYMPICS.

Just because a few Liverpudlians can run fast over fences this is no reason for a parade holding up London.

You asshats.

It's not, but it's better than telling the masses that all their savings and pensions have just gone 'phut'. Edict from above: 'Make the people happy'.

Why exactly are you reporting it here to the PH community? Is thies 'News' news? You're doing the same arent you, reporting on something thats currently/recently happening/happened?

Pointless thread.

And just how are you going to pay for it?

You'll already be buried under massive hikes in council tax due to lost funds and uncontrolled spending.

You also have an entire banking system to finance.

Huge unemployment benefits, NHS, schools etc.

As of this week you are going to be spending every single working day for the rest of your life paying for all of this.

As are we all. biggrin

I dunno, because it's an event that's happening today?

How is this [frantic_bunny_ears] news [/frantic_bunny_ears]?

Me for one. The country is sufficiently screwed already without this pointless beanfeast that will fill every TV and radio channel for weeks. Could you face the sight of Sue Barker giggling and yabbering away 24/7 to a couple of blokes who ran quite fast a few years ago?

I'm looking forward to it however it turns out - people on here are so negative towards the whole thing, it's a shame.

You could put them to work building the Olympic arena for $1 a day.

I like that, plus it will remind them of home biggrin
