BBC News last night - Empty Mall in Ohio
Discussion
Did anyone see this news item? The BBC made it seem like the Mall had been affected by the credit crunch and asked it's one remaining tenant what had happened there. What the BBC didn't emphasise what that the place has been on the decline from the early 1980s! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randall_Park_Mall
As an aside, how awesome would it be to have the run of that place - very creepy!

Its a funny thing really....
when you think about it...the way to stop this so called "recession" is to get out there and spend our money!!
The media are hyping sooo far out of proportion all for the purpose of a storyy, and we are all being suckered in. Yes times are a little harder atm, and thats all down to market confidence. So how do we bring confidence back to the market.....SPEND SPEND SPEND!

That makes me so angry. As an aside, how awesome would it be to have the run of that place - very creepy!
I've felt for a while that the media have had a significant impact on the housing/credit crisis so for the BBC to start sensationally lying make me furious.
It is the one establishment that I would expect to rise above the tabloid sensationalism.

places like that would make for awesome laser quest or paintball venues. This is why the one at the tricorn in portsmouth was so good, it was almost post apocalyptic
Go up there after 18:00 after the all the high street shops were closing for the night and everyone is leaving... yes a really creapy place... saying that i think it was always a creapy building not just becuase it was empty and i cant see how it ever had a night club?
There use to be a gold shop on one of the sides facing the shops which if you looked over the boarded up shop window still had the glass cabinets inside!!
Wonder if they'll sell it to make it a paintball venue? I've always wanted to go to the paintball venue in London which is based partly in the underground (i think) but you need your own kit so that wont happen.

kers.I have had a look at the pictures and to my mind the place looks a bit dodgy for paintballing or skating , lots of sharp edges..
I have wracked my brain and decided that it would seem to be an ideal place for businesses to have shops. There seem to be units that would be ideal for placing merchandise in. Has someone thought of this?
